His first two albums "Panganay Ng Umaga" (1982) ang"Magkabilaan" (1986) became underground classics while his 1992 release, "Mga Awit ng Tanod Lupa" helped shatter the borders between entertainment and education. His latest album released by Star Records, "Lupa’t Langit" shows an evolution from ethnic to neo-ethnic rock n’ roll with a danceable beat. It carried various themes on man, environment, the esoteric society and its ills, all the songs are written by Joey with special collaborations with our country’s creative musical artists.
Multi-faceted Ayala also ventured into musical scoring, having Celso Ad Castillo’s recent film "Virgin People" as his initial project.
